# BPMN MCP Server[](#bpmn-mcp-server "Link to this heading")

A [BPMN MCP server](https://mcp.spiff.works/mcp) is available to provide
guidance to your agent of choice on how to edit and validate BPMN diagrams that
are to be executed with Spiff Arena. To install, follow the directions for your
current agent, but often just saying “I’d like to add the mcp server
`https://mcp.spiff.works/mcp`” will suffice.

Once added, BPMN diagrams can be authored via an agentic flow. For example ask
the agent to “find all instructions that have grammatical errors and fix them”
or “what scripts have a cyclomatic complexity higher than 10?”.

Updates that change layout such as “add a script task before the 3rd gateway in
the second collapsed subprocess that calculates the PE ratio for the company
picked from the ‘Select company’ user task” will be checked against BPMN style
guidance to help produce visually appealing diagrams.

## Integration With the SpiffWorks Ecosystem[](#integration-with-the-spiffworks-ecosystem "Link to this heading")

Editing BPMN diagrams is great, but being able to see and debug them is better.

If you have a `filestore` API key, tell the agent that you would “like to work
on my filestore project `project_name`”. This will pull the relevant project
files locally. Once changes have been made they will be saved to the filestore.

When that same project is open in Ed, the diagrams will refresh as your agent
is saving changes to the filestore. Once updated, they can be run and inspected
in Ed. If you make manual changes in Ed, they will also be saved to the
filestore and your local agent can pull them down.
